With drought conditions persisting in Minnesota, the City of Roseville is encouraging residents and businesses to follow water conservation efforts consistent with those enacted by Saint Paul Regional Water Services.

The City of Roseville, and many surrounding communities, receives its water from Saint Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS). On Tuesday, SPRWS announced water conservation measures that include odd/even watering schedules and time restrictions.

Residents of Roseville are asked to follow odd/even watering restrictions that limit outdoor watering to the cooler times of the day to minimize evaporation. Residents with odd-numbered addresses are asked to restrict outdoor watering to odd-numbered days of the month, and residents with even-numbered addresses are asked to limit outdoor water use to even-numbered days.

All customers are asked to limit outdoor watering to before noon or after 6:00 p.m. An exception is allowed if watering new sod or seed requires daily watering. The city encourages residents to delay planting new sod or seeds until the fall or until drought conditions subside.

Following the restrictions is strongly encouraged. If drought conditions continue, restrictions would likely become mandatory and fines would be imposed for violations.

Residents are encouraged to reduce water usage in other ways. Visit www.cityofroseville.com/755/Water-Conservation for information about water usage habits and options to reduce water usage.

The city is currently offering a water efficiency rebate for residents to upgrade automatic irrigation systems. Roseville residents can call 651-792-7004 or visit www.cityofroseville.com/water_rebates for information about eligibility and application.
