Roseville Fire Department responded to an apartment fire on the eastern side of the city on Thursday morning.
At approximately 5 a.m. the Roseville Fire Department was dispatched to a fire alarm at 2855 Rice Street. Upon arrival, crews found an apartment fire on the second floor.
This prompted a larger response from the department as well as automatic aid partners. The fire was initially brought under control at approximately 6:15 a.m.
Fire was discovered in the walls of the third floor that had extended to the roof. A second alarm was dispatched bringing additional units. Units arrived and assisted with further fire control, overhaul, ventilation, and fire investigation. Crews cleared the scene at approximately 08:15 a.m.
There were no injuries reported. The building was safely evacuated.
"This shows the importance of functional smoke alarms, safe fire exits, and firefighters at the ready to respond to emergencies promptly," said Roseville Fire Chief David Brosnahan.
The fire is under investigation.
