Roseville is kicking off another year of the Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP). NEP started in 2008. It offers a proactive approach to inspecting private property and working with property owners to make improvements.
In 2013, the program expanded to include multi-family, commercial, and industrial properties. Over the years, the city has refined the inspection process. A week before the inspections in a neighborhood, property owners receive a letter informing them of the inspections and a list of the most common code violations. This year, beginning in early June, staff will visit properties in the southern half of the city.
Since its beginning, the city has seen a decrease in the number of code complaints. Violations have fluctuated from four to eight percent of properties.
