Thank you, volunteers! National Volunteer Week is April 18-24. The City of Roseville is fortunate to have thousands of volunteers who help make Roseville a great place to live, work and play.
Volunteers are extraordinary and the benefits of volunteering are enormous. Volunteers help people in need, and they provide support to worthwhile causes in a community. But a hidden secret of volunteers is that oftentimes the benefits can be even greater for the volunteer. The right match can help a person meet new friends, connect with the community, learn new skills, and even advance a career. Giving to others can help reduce stress, reduce depression, keep a person mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose.
Volunteering doesn’t have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day. A few of the ways volunteers help in Roseville include organizing special events, protecting Roseville’s natural resources, providing administrative support, serving on commissions and so much more. One-time and long-term volunteer opportunities are available.
