Winter is a great time to trim trees and shrubs. Trimming in winter prevents insects and diseases from harming trees. Roseville Public Works crew’s goal is to trim about 20% of city trees in the winter months.
This year, Public Works has begun trimming trees in the north central section of the city. Work will continue as weather permits.
Staff receive training in the latest pruning techniques to remove overgrowth and damaged limbs. Proper pruning keeps the trees healthy and strong and prevents possible damage from falling branches. Regularly trimming trees also helps maintain visibility along city streets.
