See democracy in action – become an election judge. Ramsey County is hiring poll workers to help with absentee voting, early voting and Election Day voting. The County is accepting applications through October 9.
To be an election judge a person must be eligible to vote in Minnesota and able to read, write and speak English.

Election judges must complete a two-hour paid, on-line training and be available to work from 6:00 a.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3. Election judges are also needed beginning September 18 to help with absentee voting and early voting.
Students aged 16 to 17 may work as student judges. Student judges perform duties similar to a precinct judge, but work a shorter day and are limited to certain jobs in the polling place. Students must submit a permission form signed by their parents or guardians and their school’s principal to be eligible to work as an election judge.
Pay is $10.00 to $16.00 per hour, depending on responsibilities. Student judges are paid $10.00 per hour. Ramsey County will provide facemasks to all workers and have hand sanitizer available. Precincts will follow guidelines established by the U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health to keep voters and judges safe.
