The Roseville Police Department is seeking applicants for a Multicultural Advisory Committee (MAC), a newly created committee to help the Police Department's outreach and racial equity efforts.
The Police Department is looking for culturally, educationally and professionally diverse community members with strong connections and commitment to Roseville. MAC meetings will be an opportunity for police and MAC members to discuss community concerns, strategize ways to best engage with the community, and share information about police policies and procedures.
Members of the committee will decide the work and focus of the MAC and will be asked to advise the Police Department about the needs of the communities they represent, with a focus on addressing racial disparities in policing so that the police can better serve Roseville’s diverse community
Once established, MAC will meet monthly to discuss topics that are important to their communities. City staff will be available to provide logistical support.
The city is anticipating a committee of 12 to 14 individuals, including student representatives. Deadline to apply is July 6. The first meeting will be held in early August at the Roseville Skating Center. Future meetings and locations will be decided by the committee.
Additional information and the application form are available at www.cityofroseville.com/MAC. Contact Community Relations Coordinator Corey Yunke at 651-238-1661 if you have questions.
