Big changes are coming to Cedarholm Golf Course. After a year of community input, the City Council approved construction of a new community building located at the course during its Monday, August 14 meeting.
The Council voted 4-0, with one abstention, to approve the project, which will replace the current golf course clubhouse with a 5,000-square foot community building and golf cart storage facility.
In addition to serving as a new clubhouse for the golf course, the facility will also feature a mid-sized meeting and banquet facility with seating for 100, which is larger than the City’s new park buildings, yet a more intimate than the meeting spaces available at the Skating Center.
Construction plans for the new $2.5 million facility include an aggressive timeline. Demolition work on the current clubhouse is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 22, with the goal of completing the new community building in time to open in the spring of 2018. The total project cost, including sight improvements, technology requirements and furnishings, is approximately $3 million.
The course at Cedarholm will not be affected by the construction. It is expected to remain open for golf into November, weather permitting.
With the clubhouse slated to close next week, Roseville Parks and Recreation will be relocating the course operations to temporary quarters next week. Cedarholm Golf Course is a par 3, nine-hole course that plays to 1,345 yards. It is located in Roseville at 2323 North Hamline Ave., one block north of Highway 36.
