Friends of the OVAL Foundation

The Friends of the OVAL Foundation is a 501(c)3, volunteer organization formed in 1993, dedicated to promoting, maintaining, and improving the John Rose MN OVAL and the Roseville Skating Center. The OVAL is a unique ice facility hosting national and international competitions in Speedskating and Bandy, and is an important local and regional recreational facility for all skating sports. 

The Friends of the OVAL Foundation supports and encourages the utilization of the OVAL for recreational as well as competitive use, supporting: hockey, figure skating, speedskating, bandy, in-line skating, hockey and public recreational skating. 

The Foundation works closely with the City of Roseville Parks & Recreation department and the Skating Center administration to determine how to best utilize the Foundation's resources. 

The Friends of the OVAL Foundation holds their annual meeting and officer elections in September. New board members from the community are needed. 

Light the OVAL Campaign

This community-driven initiative aims to bring back lights to the trees surrounding the OVAL for the upcoming seasons, coinciding with the celebration of the OVAL's 30th Anniversary! Community support is vital for the success of this project, encompassing various users such as hockey, speedskating, figure skating, bandy, and inline skating, and the public. It extends to members of the public who skate at the OVAL and local businesses who value this remarkable community asset and rely on it not just for skating, but also for various events.
