Birthday Parties

Celebrate your special day at the Harriet Alexander Nature Center!

We plan the activity - just bring the kids and the cake! Each party includes a one-hour naturalist program and an additional hour of party space (to be supervised by parents/guardians). A variety of program themes are available. Activities may include crafts, games, outdoor experiences and meeting an ambassador animal.

We are currently not accepting party requests due to Roseville Parks and Recreation's registration system transition. Beginning on November 17, party booking will be handled through the Dash registration system. Prepare to book your party by creating a Dash account now!

Birthday Party Details

  • Cost:

    $150 Roseville residents, $160 non-residents. Payment is due within one week of booking the party. 

  • Age:

    Appropriate for ages 3 and up

  • Capacity:

    15 children

  • Party Times:

    Saturdays and Sundays 10am-12pm or 1pm-3pm                   

  • Party Duration:

    One hour naturalist-led program, followed by one hour of self-led activities. Parties start promptly at their scheduled time.

  • Party Location:

    Parties are held in HANC's downstairs classroom. This is a private space accessed via the lower level or by main floor elevator. Space includes full kitchen set up (fridge, microwave, oven, sink), two individual stall bathrooms, 4 6ft tables/chairs, and rug area. Preview the room in 360° here. Layout may vary from images.

  • Parking:

    Lot at 2520 Dale St N. Additional parking along Dale Street and at arboretum across the street. 

  • Weather:

    Naturalist programs include outdoor activities; please dress accordingly. In case of inclement weather, HANC will modify party programs with indoor alternatives.

  • Food and Decor:

    You may bring your any of your own food (no alcohol) and decorations. All helium balloons must be securely fastened and glitter is not allowed. In the spirit of the nature center, we encourage the use of reusable items. Interested in a "green" party? When booking, ask about using our dishes and silverware to minimize waste.

  • Cancellation Policy:

    Birthday party reservations are non-refundable but may be rescheduled within 12 months.

Party Themes

Choose from the list of themes below to fit your child's age and birthday season. All parties can involve meeting an ambassador animal upon request.

Art and Nature: Examine textures and colors and use inspiration from nature to create a small take-home project.

Beautiful Birds: Learn about the science of flight, touch some feathers, and search for birds along the trails.

Incredible Insects: Find out about the fascinating lives of insects and get up close with some resident creepy crawlies.

Tremendous Trees: Trek through the forest and explore the wonders of trees. Meet different types of trees and explore leaves and bark.

Reptile Rangers: Learn about turtles, snakes, and more! Touch some skins and scales, and meet one of our ambassador reptiles.

Pond Pals: Dip your net into the marsh and see what's living in the water! Find out more about marsh creatures and meet a turtle. Spring, summer, and early fall only.

Scavenger Hunt: Search for hidden items, take a quest through the great outdoors, and discover more about habitats. Spring, summer, and fall only.

Snowshoeing: Strap on your snowshoes (provided) and traverse the landscape looking for animal tracks and trails. Requires adequate snow cover. Ages 5+
