Members of the public are invited to attend the unveiling of the Fire Department’s new engine at an open house on Monday, July 13 from 5-7 p.m. at the Roseville Fire Station, 2701 Lexington Ave N.
Custom built in Wyoming, Minn., by Rosenbauer America specifically for RFD, Engine 631 is designed with a cab that can transport up to five firefighters plus medical and firefighting equipment, medications, and the latest life-saving tools and technology.
Engine 631 is designed to hold 750 gallons of water along with 30 gallons of firefighting foam for unique industrial hazards found in Roseville. It also boasts the latest warning lights and siren technology to keep firefighters and other motorists safe when on city streets.
Since it was completed, Rosenbauer has showcased the new engine at several fire industry trade shows, including the Fire Department Instructors Conference (the largest trade show in North America), to highlight its unique design features. By allowing Rosenbauer to showcase the truck the city received a price break that kept the project under budget while customizing it to the department’s specifications needs.
