On Saturday, May 9, Roseville firefighters will battle a fire, and they invite you to watch. Firefighters will conduct a vehicle fire training session in the Rosedale Parking Lot near Macy’s from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
An important part of firefighting is not simply suppressing a fire, but deploying their hose-line effectively to protect life and property to the best of their ability. When there is a vehicle fire in a parking ramp and cars are packed in tightly, a fire can spread quickly; resulting in several cars catching fire by the time firefighters arrive on scene. This drill will let firefighters practice effective ways to attack a vehicle fire in these types of situations.
This will be an opportunity to see the Roseville Fire Department at work, strengthening their techniques and skills to better protect the community. Visitors are welcome to take pictures and ask questions, but please respect the dangers that fire can cause and stay within designated areas.
Roseville firefighters are very active with training, and live fire training is one of the best training opportunities to hone their skills. Contact Fire Battalion Chief David Brosnahan at 651-775-3572 if you have questions.
