Who are the unsung heroes of Roseville? Every community has groups or individuals who work to build an atmosphere that promotes fair and equal treatment for all. Often their special efforts go unrecognized.
The Roseville Human Rights Commission (HRC) wants to recognize and celebrate those unsung heroes for efforts that promote dignity and protect the human rights for all. They have established a Human Rights Award and are seeking nominations.
The HRC is seeking nominations of Roseville residents or those working on behalf of Roseville residents who have demonstrated meritorious service in the pursuit and advocacy of human rights. Eligibility is open to individuals, businesses, nonprofit public organizations, or other groups that are part of or serve the Roseville community.
Examples include outreach to refugees or others new to Minnesota; providing food, clothing or shelter for low income populations; creating educational opportunities; advocating for human rights for all.
Anyone can nominate a person or group for consideration. Additional information and nomination forms are available on the Human Rights Commission homepage or by calling 651-792-7023. Deadline to nominate someone for the 2015 award is April 3, 2015.
