On June 15, 2022, at 8:32 p.m., officers were dispatched to Larpenteur Avenue and Galtier Street on a report of two pedestrians--a male and female--who had just been struck by a vehicle.

Officers responded and immediately provided emergency medical assistance.

The 47-year-old male and three-year-old female of St. Paul sustained significant injuries and were transported to the hospital in critical condition. Tragically, the three year old later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased while at the hospital. The adult male remains in critical condition. The preliminary investigation indicates that the 75-year-old female driver from Roseville was headed westbound on Larpenteur at Galtier Street, when she struck the two pedestrians as they were crossing the road. She immediately pulled over and is cooperating with the investigation.

The Minnesota State Patrol and Roseville Police Department worked throughout the evening on the preliminary investigation. Responding officers did not note any obvious signs of impairment.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or may have information related to the investigation to call 651-767-0640.
