See democracy in action. Become an election judge. Ramsey County needs 2,000 people to serve as election judges for the 2018 election.
Election judges help ensure that eligible voters get to exercise their most basic democratic right - the right to vote.
To be an election judge in Minnesota, one must be an eligible voter and able to read, write and speak English. Youths, ages 16 and 17, can serve as student election judges. All election judges must complete two hours of paid training before working as a judge. Election judges are paid $150 for a full day of work.
Election judges start work at 6:00 a.m. and work until around 9:00 p.m. with breaks given throughout the day. Judges are needed to assist with early voting and to help at the primary election on August 14 and the general election on November 6.
