[ARCHIVED] Two long-time Staffers Retiring

Dorothy_Jill

Congratulations to Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Jill Anfang and License Center Supervisor Dorothy Wrzos. They each are retiring at the end of April.

Anfang is retiring April 27 after 19 years and Wrzos is retiring April 30 after 26 years with the City of Roseville.

Wrzos started working as a customer service assistant and worked her way up to supervisor in 2002. She was instrumental in setting up Roseville’s passport facility. Wrzos is credited for efficiently running one of the busiest license centers in the state.

“Throughout her 26 years at the Roseville License Center, Dorothy has maintained a strong presence and remarkable commitment to customer service,” said Finance Director Chris Miller.

“She played a key role in guiding the License Center through operational changes that laid the foundation for many of the successes the License Center enjoys today. Dorothy’s experience and leadership will be missed,” Miller added.

Wrzos said she will miss the relationships with customers and co-workers that she has developed over the years. In particular she will miss mentoring staff to set them up for future success. She will not, however, miss the daily drive to work.

When she retires, Wrzos is looking forward to taking things a day at a time and enjoying life with her family.

Anfang was hired in 1998 as a recreation superintendent. In 2002, she was promoted to Assistant Director, overseeing recreational programming and special events.

“Jill has certainly made her mark on Roseville,” said Parks and Recreation Director Lonnie Brokke. “During her 19 years, she has helped to establish one of the best parks and recreation systems in the country. Her ability to work with complex projects and a variety of people has been amazing. She has been a great mentor to staff and has been an approachable go-to friend for the community. Roseville has been lucky to have Jill for so many years. She will be missed by all.”

Anfang said what she will miss most is the interaction with Roseville residents and participants who embrace and treasure the parks, recreational programs and special events. She will also miss her co-workers and colleagues who exemplify the best of Roseville.

Upon retirement, Anfang will catch up on all the projects and chores that she has been putting off. She is also looking forward to traveling in the coming months.

The City will celebrate Anfang’s retirement on April 26 at 2:30 p.m. and Wrzos’s retirement on April 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Drive. Members of the public are invited.
