Roseville has more than 350 lane miles and nearly 70 miles of sidewalks and pathways to clear after each snow event. It takes up to eight hours to plow the city following a four-inch snowfall, and the more snow that falls, the longer it takes.

Roseville’s snowplow operators want to remind drivers of these guidelines so they can plow quickly and efficiently.

• When two inches of snow has accumulated a parking ban goes into effect and parking is prohibited on all city streets. Sign up at www.cityofroseville.com/receiveupdates. Click the Alert – Snow Plows link to receive a text or email notice when snowplows are about to roll.
• Stay at least four car lengths behind a snowplow. Plows can create dangerous snow clouds and can throw chunks of snow, ice and debris.
• Do not pass a snowplow on the right. Snowplows push snow and spread ice control to the right.
• Do not put trashcans or recycling bins in the street. Snowplow drivers cannot stop or drive around the bins, and bins could end up down the street.
• Do not allow children to play in the streets or build tunnels in snow banks along streets and driveways.
