[ARCHIVED] Wild Rice Festival Coming Soon

Wild Rice

Join us at Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANC), 2520 N. Dale Street, Roseville on Saturday, September 16 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for Roseville’s Wild Rice Festival.

We will have a day of free activities that celebrate foods harvested in the fall, natural history and the traditional cultures of Minnesota.

A goal of the festival is to provide education about local Native American cultures and traditions. The festival features seasonal harvest activities including a beekeeper extracting honey and filling bottles with honey fresh from the hives, and volunteers operating an apple cider press where visitors can help squeeze a cup of cider. Activities for the kids will include crafts and traditional village games.

Pow Wow Grounds, a Native American cafe in Minneapolis, will sell a variety of foods including wild rice, Four Sisters soups, fry bread, and Indian tacos. Northern Visions will sell Native American products.

More information about the Wild Rice Festival is available at or call the 651-765-HANC (4262).

Presented by Northland Visions, Pow Wow Grounds Cafe, and Gibbs Farm. Thank you to Great Southern Bank, Half Price Books and Johnson, Martineau, Attorneys at Law, for sponsoring this event.
