Congratulations to Roseville Police officers and several private citizens. They were recognized on May 17 at Roseville’s annual Police Awards ceremony.
Officers were recognized for their outstanding police work, and six private citizens were recognized for their assistance to the Roseville Police in the past year.
Twenty-seven officers received Unit Citations at the awards ceremony. Unit Citations are given to officers who provide exceptional police work or accomplishments that involve personal danger or adverse conditions. This award recognizes teamwork by two or more officers.
Sergeant Joe Adams, Officer Bryan Anderson, Officer Shawn Carter, Officer Mitch Christensen, Officer Aaron Craven, Officer Grant Dattilo, Officer Mitch Dickens, Officer Kyle Eckert, Officer Dan Ehnstrom, Sergeant Jen Engh, Detective Mark Ganley, Officer Tom Hicke, Officer Michael Holtmeier, Officer Brooke Jennings, Officer Kevin Johnson, Officer Crystal Jones, Officer John Jorgensen, along with K-9 Otis, Detective Dennis Kim, Officer Jeff Lopez, Detective Sean Mooney, Officer Tom Pitzl, Lieutenant Lorne Rosand, Officer Juan Toran, Officer Haivy Vang, Officer Ryan Weber, Officer Ryan Wiesner, Officer Zach Wiesner, and Lieutenant Scott Williams received unit citations.
Awards of Merit are given to any officer for outstanding performance of duty under unusual or difficult conditions. The action need not involve physical danger but must involve protection of life or property and unusual thoroughness, conscientiousness, determination and initiative.
Detective Mark Ganley, Officer Kyle Eckert, Officer John Jorgensen and K-9 Otis each received Awards of Merit.
The Police Department also recognizes officers who show an interest in accident reduction through traffic enforcement. This year Officer John Jorgensen received his second set of Silver Wings.
In addition to the police officers who were recognized, several private citizens received Certificates of Appreciation for their quick action, willingness to get involved, attention to detail and support for police efforts in the city. Those recognized include Sierra Sweat, Judith Micketts, Janice Sahr, Nicholas Webb, David Voss and Robert Johnson.
