The City of Roseville invites you to join us on Martin Luther King Jr. Day for “A Day On, Not a Day Off.” We'll gather on January 16 to learn how to create a natural, bee-friendly yard and garden.
The MLK holiday is a day when community members are encouraged to volunteer. This year, Roseville is hosting a new, family-friendly volunteer experience.
An expert on native plants and gardens will talk about native plants in suburban yards – what it means and tips on how to grow them, including how to create a natural yard and garden.
Erin Rupp, founder and executive director of Pollinate MN Bees, will explain the bee’s role, their importance in protecting crops and why we need to support their survival.
Staff will provide an overview of Roseville policies and ordinances for yards. Staff will also update participants on the status of the city’s natural resources renewal efforts, and offer ideas for participants to get involved.
Following the presentations, participants will get a chance to draw plans for their own yard. Kids will learn about what they can do to help protect bees and take part in hands-on activities that support the environment.
