The Rising Star Award recognizes women in public service with 10 or fewer years of service who are already making their mark in working toward the public good.

Collins joins Kayla Fruetel, Youth Worker for 180 Degrees, and Danielle Werder, Senior Planner for Hennepin County Office to End Homelessness, in receiving this honor.

Collins has been serving as Roseville’s Community Development Director since March. She has taken the lead on several significant priorities for the City, including expanding economic development efforts and focusing on quality of life issues in Southeast Roseville. Collins has also helped the City navigate several land acquisition cases and served as part of a multi-jurisdictional task for advocating for the revitalization and reinvestment of the Rice/Larpenteur corridor.

Collins earned a master’s degree in urban studies from UW-Milwaukee. Before coming to Roseville she served as the Zoning Administrator for Milwaukee’s Board of Zoning Appeals.
