Replace the batteries in your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide (CO) detector at least once a year, and replace your smoke alarm and CO detector at least once every ten years.
The Roseville Fire Department suggests you change batteries every year when you move your clocks back at the end of Daylight Saving Time on November 6.

According to the State Fire Marshall, residential fires account for more than 80% of all fire deaths in Minnesota. Two-thirds of fire deaths are in homes with no smoke alarm or a smoke alarm that does not work.
