City Council Meeting Minutes

March 14, 2011

 

1.         Roll Call

Mayor Roe called to order the Roseville City Council regular meeting at approximately 5:00 pm. Mayor Roe, and Council Members Johnson and McGehee were present. Councilmember Pust arrived at approximately 5:20 pm.  Parks and Recreation Chair Jason Etten and Police Civil Service Commission Chair James Campbell were also present.  Mayor Roe noted Councilmember Willmus’ absence due to out of state travel.   

2.         Advisory Commission Interviews

The City Council met at approximately 5:00 pm for the purpose of interviewing applicants for vacancies on the Planning, Parks and Recreation, Ethics and Police Civil Service Commissions. Interviews were held at approximate ten minute intervals with the following applicants:

3.         Public Comment – Mr. James Anderson, 3004 Arona Street

Mr. Anderson spoke regarding an issue he has had with a neighbor maliciously blowing snow against Mr. Anderson’s home, and in support of a city ordinance to restrict placing snow more than 5 feet over the property line onto a neighbor’s property.  Mayor Roe thanked Mr. Anderson for his comments, and indicated that Mr. Anderson’s request would be forwarded to staff for review and report back to the city council.  Mayor Roe noted that Mr. Anderson would be informed of the report back to the city council.

5.         Council Communications, Reports, and Announcements

 

Mayor Roe announced the upcoming session of Roseville U, an opportunity to learn more about how your City government works.  Roseville U sessions will occur on Thursdays for 7 weeks, beginning April 7, from 6:30 - 9 pm each session.  Mayor Roe encouraged interested persons to register, either online or by contacting the city offices, as the number of participants in this free offering is limited.

 

Mayor Roe also announced the Roseville Police Explorers fundraising breakfast, to be held at Applebee’s Restaurant on Saturday, March 19, from 8 to 10 am.  Tickets must be purchased in advance from the police department at city hall.

 

Recess

Mayor Roe recessed the meeting from approximately 6:40 pm to approximately 7:15 pm.
