Historic Duluth


Thursday, September 27 Program #7201.414 $108 

Located on Great Lake Superior, the natural beauty of Duluth is a treasure. Ask anyone who’s been thereand they’ll tell you there’s nothing like a visit to Duluth. Our fi rst stop will be a visit to Glensheen, the historic
Congdon Estate. Located along the shore of Lake Superior, a 7.6-acre expanse of wooded land enfolds the 39-room Jacobean Revival mansion that is Minnesota’s premier historic house museum. Visitors are given a fascinating look at life in an affluent family home from the turn of the last century followed by lunch (on your own) in Canal Park. Following this free time, we’ll board the North Shore Scenic Railroad. Departing from Duluth’s Historic Union Depot, we will ride along the historic rails of the DM and IR Railroad that helped build America. This narrated excursion will take us along Duluth’s downtown, waterfront and residential areas and through the scenic wonderlands of Lake Superior’s North Shore.

admission, visit to Canal Park and all fuel surcharges.

Explore the new Bell Museum

If you love to explore and discover, you’ll love the new Bell Museum! Newly opened in July 2018, the Bell
Museum brings together science, art, and the environment with a unique Minnesota perspective. Their new
structure features a digital planetarium, high-tech exhibits, famous wildlife dioramas, outdoor learning
experiences and more. We will take part in a guided tour of the facility followed by a stunning presentation in
the Whitney and Elizabeth MacMillan Planetarium. From the comfort of a plush reclining seat, you’ll feel like
you’re flying through Earth’s atmosphere to the far reaches of the universe in this state of the art digital
planetarium. A meal is not provided but snacks will be available for purchase.

Holidays at Mayowood Mansion


Thursday, November 15 Program #7201.416 $68

Tour the historic Mayowood Mansion with more than 15 rooms uniquely decorated for the holidays. This
historical landmark is located on the hillside overlooking the Zumbro River Valley and is the former residence of
Dr. Charles H. Mayo. The tour will begin at the History Center with light refreshments and a film about
Mayowood and the Mayo family. We will then ride a trolley up to the mansion and receive a guided hour long
tour. On our way back we will stop for a late lunch at the historic Hubbell House in Mantorville. Menu includes
your choice of roast sirloin of beef or baked chicken (please indicate at time of registration). Meal also includes
house salad, baked potato, vegetable, fresh baked roll and beverage, coffee or tea.

Holiday lights Tour

Celebrate the season with an evening of dazzling Holiday Lights! Back by popular demand is our festive Holiday
Lights tour of downtown Saint Paul and surrounding neighborhoods. Step aboard a warm, deluxe motorcoach
and listen to fascinating commentary on Twin Cities’ holiday traditions and fun “inside” stories on the
decorations you pass by. This memorable evening tour highlights beautiful and creative light displays
throughout the Twin Cities as local merchants and residents join together to celebrate the holidays and their
community spirit.

• Fee includes deluxe transportation, Metro Connections uniformed tour guide and all fuel surcharges.

• Register by November 12

• Depart at 5:30pm, return around 9:00pm
