FREE Gardening Classes for Children

Kids, grab an adult and join us for free gardening classes at the community orchard located at the Central Park Muriel Sahlin Arboretum. Learn what to plant and how to care for a garden, then enjoy the fruits of your labor.

This series of family gardening classes will include garden care, weeding, harvesting, art and food, with a different theme each session. Classes will be led by retired naturalist and volunteer Anna Newton. Additional volunteers will be helping as well, which is why the city is able to provide this class at no charge.

Classes meet at the orchard, 2525 Dale St., on June 8 (pre-school session) July 13 and August 10, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. The sessions are free but registration is required. Contact Volunteer Coordinator Rachel Boggs at 651-792-7028 or rachel.boggs@cityofroseville.com to register.

The class is specifically geared to children with each child accompanied by an adult - no drop off option available. Supplies will provided. Participants, please bring a refillable water bottle and dress for the weather, wear comfortable footwear and be prepared to get dirty.
