Renewable Energy

Aside from reducing demand through efficiency improvements, sources of renewable energy are the most effective tool available to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases related to energy consumption, which is crucial to Roseville’s future.

Roseville’s Energy Action Plan Goal: Engagement with 100 residents and five businesses annually to encourage them to subscribe to renewable energy

Windsource®

As one of the nation's largest voluntary renewable energy programs, Windsource® is an easy, inexpensive way to make a difference in sustainability. With flexible enrollment and no required equipment to install, this program utilizes Minnesota wind to produce energy without sacrificing reliability.

Solar*Rewards®

With your own on-site solar installation, you can generate some or all of the electricity your home uses. You may even be able to sell what your home doesn’t need to your electric utility!  Annual payments from Xcel Energy are made to the owner of the solar system, based on the amount of electricity your system produces.

As of April 2021, Xcel Energy has exceeded the number of applications for the 2021 Solar*Rewards program year and has implemented a waitlist.
