Effective April 2, 2018: The passport agent processing fee has increased from $25 to $35 nationwide

The $10 increase only applies to U.S. passport applicants using the DS-11 form, such as first-time applicants over 16 years of age, children under 16, and applicants who re-apply after reporting their previous passport lost or stolen.

Types of Passports

There are 2 types of Passports that U.S. citizens are eligible to apply for:
  • Passport Book

    Can be used for land, air, and sea travel.
  • Passport Card

    Can be used for land and sea crossings between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean only. CAN NOT be used for international travel by air.
U.S. Citizens can have both a U.S. Passport Book and a U.S. Passport Card, if desired. For more information about the difference between a Passport Book and a Passport Card visit the U.S. Department of State.


All photos submitted with applications for a US Passport must meet U.S. Department of State requirements. Photos can be taken at the City of Roseville Passport Office for $15.

Special Passport Applications

Hand-carry and special-circumstance applications (i.e. Peace Corps, military, special no-fee passports), require an appointment. Appointments will be scheduled Monday through Friday only.
