Commander Travis Steinberg began his law enforcement career with the Roseville Police Department in 2007. Travis is currently assigned as the Professional Standards Commander. Travis handles department training, internal affairs, fleet, and oversight of the Community Action Team (CAT). Travis previously supervised the patrol division, in which he oversaw six patrol sergeants and 30 patrol officers. His other duties included overseeing the Field Training Officer Program and the K9 officers.
Travis has served as a patrol officer, impact officer, and patrol sergeant. Over the course of his career, Commander Steinberg has held several specialty positions in the department, including: Lieutenant, Field Training Officer, FTO Supervisor, EVOC/PIT Instructor, Explorer Advisor, and Traffic Safety Coordinator. He has received 3 Lifesaving Awards (2013, 2019, and 2020).
Commander Steinberg holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement (2003) from Minnesota State University- Mankato. In 2019, he obtained a Master’s degree in Public Safety and Law Enforcement Leadership from the University of St. Thomas.
