Parks and Rec Earns Reaccreditation

Roseville Parks and Recreation continues to rank among the elite park and recreation departments in the country. In September, the City of Roseville learned that the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA) and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) reaccredited Roseville Parks and Recreation. Every five years, an accredited agency must thoroughly be reviewed to ensure continued compliance with the accreditation standards. Read more

Historical Society Open House

The Roseville Historical Society invites the community to a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Thursday, October 24 at 3:00 p.m. to celebrate its new space at Roseville City Hall, 2660 Civic Center Dr. A brief ceremony will take place in the City Council chambers. Mayor Dan Roe and City Manager Patrick Trudgeon will speak. It will be followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony in front of the new space on the lower level of City Hall. Rec Fires

Recreational Fires

Autumn weather often means enjoying a backyard fire. Roseville allows camp fires for recreation purposes only – cooking or a family/friend gathering. Unfortunately, some people try to burn leaves, twigs or small branches in the fire pit. Open burning is prohibited in Roseville, and state statute prohibits burning yard waste or trash in a fire pit or barbecue. Leaves, twigs and paper can become airborne and spread a fire. Treated or painted wood, wood products and building waste are pollutants. Read more

Learn to Speedskate

Love to skate fast? Then speedskating may be the sport for you. The City of Roseville invites you to introductory youth (ages 6+) and adult classes to learn the basics of speedskating. Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Roseville Skating Center, 2661 Civic Center Dr., beginning November 12. Full season or half season sessions are offered. Participants must be able to skate independently. Read more

Tap for Older Adults

Tap, tap, tap your way to better health. Seniors, join Roseville’s Tap Class designed for the mature adult. Classes meet on Fridays starting November 1 through December 20. Beginning classes meet at 8:30 a.m. and intermediate classes meet at 9:30 a.m. No class November 29. Tap classes meet at Roseville Wellness Studio, 2731 Lexington Ave. Read more
