Policing 101

Policing 101: CSI

Policing 101 is your chance to get to know the Roseville Police Department. Join us on Wednesday, October 18 for a one-day Citizen Police Academy, lead by Police Chief Rick Mathwig. Chief Mathwig and RPD officers will explain how the department works - from the number of officers and the training they receive to how they gather evidence at crime scenes. The purpose of the Citizen Police Academy is to foster greater understanding between community members and police. Read more

Flu Shots at City Hall

The Minnesota Visiting Nurses Association will give flu shots at Roseville City Hall on Monday, October 23, from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. Free blood pressure, hearing and eye tests will also be available. Most health insurance accepted. Bring your health insurance card. If not covered by insurance, costs are $38 for flu shot. Checks or cash only (credit cards not accepted). Sorry, no flu mist available this year. Wear clothing that allows easy access to your upper arm. Read more

Stoplights and Stop Signs

Each fall, Roseville Police get an increased number of complaints about cars coasting past stop signs and stoplights or racing to beat yellow lights. It’s not worth the extra seconds. RPD is asking drivers to do their part to help keep pedestrians and bikers safe. Throughout the month of October, Roseville officers will be putting a greater emphasis on stop sign and red light safety, stopping and ticketing drivers who ignore basic rules of the road. Read more

Are you a caregiver? Many Minnesotans are, but don’t necessarily consider themselves to be. That can delay getting vital support. The Roseville Alzheimer’s and Dementia Community Action Team (RSVL A/D) will discuss what support options are available for caregivers on Thursday, October 12 when it continues the popular Dementia: Caring & Coping series at the Roseville Library. The discussion begins at 1:00 p.m. and will be led by Catherina Engstrom of Wilder Foundation Caregiver Services. Read more

Managing Medications

Do you take one or more prescription, over-the-counter, or herbal medicines? Do you have questions about your medications? Join the Roseville Community Health Awareness Team (CHAT) for a free educational event. Managing Your Medications will be hosted by CHAT on Saturday, October 14 at the Roseville Library. The event begins at 10:30 a.m. Pharmacists will explain how they can work with you to review your medications and improve your healthcare. Read more

Great Fall Golf

Autumn golfing is the best – not too hot, not too crowded and at a price that can’t be beat. Visit Roseville Cedarholm Golf Course for some fall golfing fun. Cedarholm is a par-3, nine-hole course of 1,345 yards. It is located at 2323 North Hamline Ave., one block north of Highway 36. The course will remain open through construction of the new Cedarholm Community Building into November, weather permitting. Read more

Cold Weather Rule

Minnesota's Cold Weather Rule

Minnesota’s Cold Weather Rule will soon takes effect. For those who may have trouble paying their energy bill, Xcel Energy reminds residents that the Cold Weather Rule provides protection from service disconnection. Under the rule, income eligible residential customers are protected from service disconnection between October 15 and April 15, if the disconnection would affect your primary heating source.
