Amanda Becker Creates Connections as a Filmmaker and Human Rights Commissioner

March is Women’s History Month. This year’s theme is Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories. The City of Roseville is recognizing influential women who are doing exceptional work and bringing positive change to the community.

Amanda Becker became a filmmaker because she wanted to tell stories that “create connection.” That’s what also inspired her to serve as a Roseville commissioner.

Call to sign up for a time slot starting the Monday before each show, or sign up the night of the event; spaces may be limited. Light refreshments will be available for purchase.

It's Tapping Time

Saturday, March 25, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and
Sunday, March 26, noon – 4:00 p.m.
Harriet Alexander Nature Center, 2520 North Dale St

Come along as volunteers tap maple trees, collect sap and boil it to make delicious maple syrup. Learn about traditional syruping methods, listen to Native American stories, and taste maple treats. Volunteers are on hand collecting and cooking the sap and explaining the whole process. We are in need of volunteers throughout the festival to assist with kids activities and in the kitchen. Most activities will be outside.

The Roseville Fire Department continues to have a busy and active 2023. Our structure fire incidents are up compared to this same time in 2022, so please be mindful of fire safety at home. As we approach the back end of the winter months it is still important to remember fire safety in our homes in these cold months. And as the recent snowstorm in February showed, we have to take certain precautions to prepare for the unexpected.
