Fire Department Updates

Welcome to the first of many Roseville Fire Department updates! Roseville Fire will be sharing important information and safety news with the community in this new update each month, and sometimes more frequently if needed. Stay connected to Roseville Fire by subscribing to the monthly update to have it delivered directly to your email or phone via text message.

Over the last year and a half, the Roseville Fire Department has experienced a number of changes, including welcoming new Chief David Brosnahan in June. As the community gradually returns to a place of normalcy, Roseville Fire would like to keep the community involved with what is happenings in the department and give residents a glimpse of our day-to-day operations. If there is ever anything you would like to learn more about, or if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us by calling 651-792-7009.

Chief’s Corner

I am excited and humbled to take on the role of Fire Chief with the City of Roseville. The Roseville Fire Department has an incredible history of being great stewards of our community and I am looking forward to continuing that tradition.

As a community, we have been through a lot during the past 16 months of COVID-19. We are encouraged by the improvement in case numbers, increased vaccinations, the opening up of events and the loosening of restrictions. With that in mind, I am excited to announce the Fire Department will be resuming our normal community events and outreach programs. We will be hosting two Friday’s With Firefighters events this summer, resuming our Community CPR program this fall, and reopening the fire station for normal operations.

The Roseville Fire Department aspires to continue expanding our outreach in the community. Our firefighters know this community, and the community should know its firefighters.

June Training Events

In addition to having one of the busiest call volume months on record, Roseville firefighters were able to conduct on-site training in three locations within Roseville during June – 1910 County Road B (old Fairview Community Center); 1910 County Road D (old Presbyterian Homes location); and the former Herberger’s building at Rosedale Mall.

All three locations are scheduled for demolition in the near future. Firefighters were able to conduct valuable firefighting training activities, including advancing hose lines, firefighter rescue, search activities, and forcible entry tactics to help better prepare firefighters for emergency incidents throughout the community. Partnerships with building owners like these provide important hands-on training opportunities in unfamiliar environments for firefighters by helping more closely simulate real-world scenarios.
