New Commission Members Named

Congratulations to eight Roseville residents. The Roseville City Council appointed them to several commissions at its March 22 meeting. Commission members are volunteers and serve as advisors to the City Council. The new commission members will begin their appointments in April. The Council also extended the application period for the Finance Commission. Applications will be accepted through April 5.

Advisory Commission Openings

The Roseville City Council is seeking applicants for a vacancies on the Finance Commission, Police Civil Service Commission, and the Public Works, Environment and Transportation Commission. Commissions serve as voluntary advisory boards to the City Council. For more information on advisory commissions, visit www.cityofroseville.com/commissions. Free Help for your Garden

Pick up free compost and wood chips from the bins in front of Roseville’s Leaf Recycling Center at 2580 Dale St., located just south of County Road C. This nutrient rich compost boosts your soil and helps your garden. Wood chips make a great ground cover that reduces time needed for weeding, saves water, nourishes soil and reduces the need for chemical weed killers or herbicides. The gates to the Leaf Recycling Center will be open from April 2 to May 3. Read more

Dogs in Parks

With spring here, it’s a wonderful time for people to take their dogs for a walk in any of Roseville’s numerous parks. While walking your dogs, please remember that dogs must be on a leash when not on your property. Dog owners are also responsible to clean up and properly dispose of waste. If you are looking to let your dog off its leash, visit the Ramsey County Woodview Dog Park on the south side of Reservoir Woods Park (481 Larpenteur Ave.) for an off-leash dog area. Read more

Free Exterior Painting Available

Does your home need exterior painting or minor repairs? You may be eligible for free assistance. Hearts & Hammers’ mission is to provide exterior home improvement assistance for senior citizens, disabled individuals, and veterans/surviving spouses. Each year, from June through September, thousands of volunteers provide exterior painting and minor repairs for homeowners throughout the seven-county metro area. Read more 

Golf Course Open for the Season

Time to hit the links. Roseville’s Cedarholm Golf Course is opened for the season. The nine-hole, par-three course, located at 2323 Hamline Ave., offers an exciting golf challenge. Open golfing and youth, lady, senior and evening leagues are available.
