Fire Chief Retires

Roseville Fire Chief to Retire

After 32 years with the Roseville Fire Department, Chief Tim O’Neill will hang up his gear for the final time on May 31. City Manager Patrick Trudgeon announced today that O’Neill, who has served as Roseville’s Fire Chief since 2010, will be retiring and that Assistant Fire Chief David Brosnahan has been selected as Roseville’s next Fire Chief. O’Neill oversaw a dramatic evolution in Roseville’s fire and emergency services in his more than 10 years as chief. Read more

Commission Opening

The Roseville City Council is seeking applicants for a vacancy on the Police Civil Service Commission. Commissions serve as a voluntary advisory board to the City Council. The Police Civil Service Commission reviews employment practices of the Police Department to ensure they are fair and reasonable as authorized by state statute. The commission monitors and makes decisions concerning employment practices rather than advocating for personnel or management. Read more

Pothole Repair

Winter is rough on streets and roadways. Rain and slush and freezing and thawing is an ideal mix for making potholes. As temperatures fluctuate and rain falls and snow melts, water gets into cracks in the pavement. When the temperature drops, the water freezes and expands, popping out asphalt and creating potholes. Potholes also form when traffic pressures create weak spots in the pavement and the pavement fails.

Help Maintain Roseville Parks

Make an impact on Roseville parks and natural resources. Roseville is looking for volunteers to join our Natural Resources Renewal efforts to improve city parks. On Saturday, March 20, we‘re looking for help at Villa Park and Reservoir Woods Park. Join us as we seed native grasses, flowers, and sedges. We will meet at the Villa Park building first and then head to the seeding locations. Please dress for the weather. Sturdy boots or shoes are recommended. Read more

Tapping Time

It’s Tapping Time!

As if by magic, sap flows from a tree and is turned into a luscious springtime treat. Roseville Parks and Recreation invites you to Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANC) to learn the secret of making maple syrup. Join us on Saturday, March 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or Sunday, March 21 from noon to 4:00 p.m. at HANC, 2520 North Dale St. for an all-outdoor, hands-on experience tapping trees and learning how the sap is prepared. No charge for this family-friendly outing. Read more 

Reserve a Park Shelter

Start making summer plans. The City of Roseville is now taking reservations for Central Park shelters. Roseville offers four picnic shelters that are available for rent from April 15 to October 15, 2021. Each shelter includes a kitchenette, electricity, water, restrooms, picnic tables and grills. Shelters have easy access to play areas and walking trails and offer other amenities. Because of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, some restrictions may be in place. Read more
