Roseville Primary Election Results

Primary Election Results

Two City Council seats are up for election in 2020. During the August 11 primary election, Roseville voters narrowed the field from five candidates to four who will go on to the November 3 general election. The top four vote getters, who will go on to the general elections, are: Jason Etten (3,881 votes); Julie Strahan (3,353 votes); Lisa Laliberte (2,824 votes) and Dannah Thompson (2,524 votes). In addition, Marty Byers ran for office. He received 636 votes. Read more

Roseville Chief of Police Retires

City Manager Patrick Trudgeon announced today that Roseville Chief of Police Rick Mathwig is retiring from the city, effective August 31, and that Deputy Chief Erika Scheider has been named as the next Roseville Police Chief. Mathwig began his career as a patrol officer in Roseville in 1989. Over the years, he gained valuable experience serving as an investigator, use of force instructor, field training officer and sergeant. Mathwig was name Roseville's Chief of Police in 2010. Commitment to Racial Equity

The City of Roseville is dedicated to creating an inclusive community where the predictability of success is not based on race or ethnicity. The City Council adopted a racial equity narrative at its August 10 meeting. In 2018, Roseville staff members representing every city department participated in a year-long racial equity training that was facilitated by the League of Minnesota Cities and the Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE). Read more


An Array of Activities

Roseville Parks and Recreation is excited to offer quality recreation programs and services this fall and winter. Fall and winter programs include safety awareness, dance, gymnastics, art and nature camps, STEM, adult classes and leagues, skating lessons and more. Adopt a Drain

Adopt a Drain

Every storm drain leads to a wetland, pond or lake. Those waterways lead to the Mississippi River, which is where Roseville and many other local municipalities get their drinking water, so it’s easy to understand why it’s important to protect our waterways. You can help. Clean Water MN, a collaboration of water resource educators including area watershed districts, cities and other local agencies, encourages residents to adopt a sewer drain in their neighborhood. Camp CARE In the Time of COVID

COVID-19 hasn’t stopped the Roseville Parks and Recreation Department from offering a fun summer experience. Although fewer kids took part than in previous years, participants are having lots of fun doing crafts and science experiments and cooking up recipes. Kids are taking part in team building activities, puppet shows, water games and sports. They also get a little “me” time and free time, keeping a journal and reflecting on their days. The city has made many modifications to keep kids and staff safe. Read more
