COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND ENGAGEMENT 12-04-2019: Shop with a Cop What a great night! This year, we were fortunate enough to 'adopt' 17 kids to take on our annual shopping spree at Target. Shop with a Cop is funded through a grant from Target Corporation and through donations from local businesses and residents. Each year, we pick local kids; either through our interactions during police work, through the teachers and cultural liaisons at Roseville Schools, and/or from nominations from our faith-based community. We then pair the kids up with Roseville Officers. Most imagine that the kids go straight to the toy department to pick items for themselves. In fact, very few do. Most shop for their parents, grandparents, siblings, and whoever takes care of them...a robe for Mom, boots for Grandma, a coat for their older brother. This year, a 13-year-old chose to purchase the very first Christmas tree that she has ever had in her home. How cool is that?
After the shopping, everyone piled into a rented bus and retreated back to the Roseville Skating Center to wrap the presents with their new officer buddy and other Roseville Police staff. The evening is finished with a huge pizza party and treats, courtesy of Edible Arrangements in Roseville.
Thanks Roseville for making this annual event a huge success.

December 2019: Food and Toiletries Drive for RAHS Food Shelf.
School Resource Officer Erin Reski reported the food and toiletries shelf was low. This was extra concerning because school would be closed for winter break and she wanted students to be able to bring items home for the break. Police Administration chose to pitch in and put together a Food and Toiletries Drive as part of one of their Make a Difference Projects for the year. As you can see below, the community and staff were able to restock the shelves with much needed items.
