Are you or is someone you know interested in purchasing a home in Roseville? Roseville offers several programs to help individuals and families purchase a home that also address some of the barriers to homeownership.
Homeownership plays a vital role in helping build strong, stable communities, and continues to be one of the main ways to accumulate and pass on wealth to future generations. Homeownership is also good for the economy and provides social benefits, including more involvement in the community.
The City of Roseville is partnering with Minnesota Housing to ensure all families have access to safe and affordable housing and opportunities for homeownership. In 2021, Minnesota Housing has allocated more than $55 million to housing support across the state, including $3.5 million for Ramsey County. This funding will support first-time homebuyers by providing affordable mortgages through the Start Up Loan Program.
Minnesota Housing offers help for first-time homebuyers who may not meet income minimums. The Start Up loan program provides assistance with down payments and closing costs, which often stand in the way of a person buying their first home. In addition, Minnesota Housing also offers fixed interest rates on loans to help make homeownership fit your budget.
First-time buyers can visit www.mnhousing.gov/sites/homebuyers/startup to learn more and find approved lenders, current interest rates and program eligibility information.
Minnesota Housing also offers purchase, refinance and home improvement loans and financing for affordable rental housing. Contact Minnesota Housing at 651-296-8215 or email mnhousing.solution@state.mn.us if you have questions.
If you know someone interested in buying a home in Roseville and looking for assistance, please pass along this information to them.
