Nature Journaling Workshop

Nature Journaling

Explore nature in a new way. Roseville Parks and Recreation invites you to an Arts Skill Workshop. Class meets on Mondays, November 2, 9, and 16 at Harriet Alexander Nature Center, 2520 Dale St. from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Nature journaling is a fun way to learn how to identify native plant and animal species. Participants will learn clever sketching techniques that increase the powers of observation and make drawings more accurate. Gain confidence in your artistic abilities and create a beautiful collection of drawings. This class is taught by scientific illustrator Cora Hays.

Basic materials will be provided, but participants can bring a journal, sketchbook or drawing paper, and other art supplies. No previous art experience necessary. Weather permitting, workshops may include outside exploration, so please dress for the weather.

Cost is $48. Cost for children age 8 to 18 is $7. Children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Space is limited so register early at 651-792-7110 or www.cityofroseville.com/registration.

Please note, the city follows the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and MDH guidelines for Social Distancing in Recreational Programs. Participants experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or who have had contact with someone with COVID-19 are prohibited from participating.

A safety sheet that details precautions and modifications that will be used is available at www.cityofroseville.com/hanc. Participants are responsible for reviewing safety sheets before attending the program and abide by safety protocols. If you have concerns or questions, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 651-792-7006 or recreation@cityofroseville.com.
