Crime Prevention

Broken Window

Our conveniences are convenient for thieves. The Roseville Police Department encourages residents to take a few quick steps to make it harder for thieves to break into your home, auto or business.

  • Do not leave valuable items in a vehicle. Remove the garage door opener and the keys from cars. Thieves can ransack a vehicle in minutes. Don’t make it easy for them to get in and gain access to your garage or house.
  • Close and lock all vehicle, home, patio and garage doors and windows. Although forced-entry burglaries do occur in Roseville, they are much less common than burglaries where suspects enter though unlocked doors or windows.
  • Turn outdoor lights on at night. Burglars and thieves would rather not be seen and usually choose an entrance that is more hidden than others. A well-lit area means neighbors, officers, and video surveillance systems have a better chance to see potentially suspicious activity.
