Natural Resources Management Annual Meeting

Monday, January 20, 2020

Join us for an educational and training session as we kickoff our 2020 Natural Resources Program. A light breakfast and coffee will be available. Since 2014, Roseville’s Natural Resources Management Program has been working to remove non-native plants and restore native plants and habitats on city parkland, spanning more than 375 acres of savanna, woodland and shoreline. As the work has progressed, more parks have been restored, and volunteers have taken a larger role to help with ongoing tasks, including removing buckthorn, pulling garlic mustard, planting native plant seeds and other responsibilities. Environmental Scientist Diane Narem will teach about the best ways to plant and maintain native grasses in cold climates. Narem, is the co-author of the 2019 Gold Award winning e-book Gardening with Native Grasses in Cold Climates and a Guide to Butterflies They Support. Following Narem’s presentation, attendees will get an update on Roseville’s plans for 2020.
